A novel by Vivian Demuth, a poet and novelist who works as the eyes of the forest in a fire tower on Nose Mountain 80 km. south of Grande Prairie Alberta on the eastern slopes (foothills) of the Rockies. In the winter she teaches creative writing in New York City and works with the homeless and with other politically progressive groups.
